Pangea Net Annual Report 2016-2017

lt is a pleasure to once again introduce a document, which sets out a summary of some of the highlights and key achievements within the network over the past 12 months, as well as a few other items which I hope will be of interest.

Following last year’s report, the network continues to grow and evolve. With an established and proactive membership, it is encouraging to see so much activity taking place in the network. ln particular, the network’s practice groups go from strength to strength and a number of network members have been involved in secondments and exchanges.

Excitement is here as we open the doors of the 15th Annual General Meeting !

Our members from 25 countries are gathered in the city of Kolding, for this high-value moment designed this year by our Danish member firm Andersen Partners Advokatfirma.

Our AGM is more than just a meeting—it’s a pivotal event for fostering connections, sharing insights and best practices, boosting referrals, and setting the strategic direction for the future.

Pangea Net Annual Report 2023-2024

In a few days, we’ll all gather in Kolding, Denmark, for our network’s 15th AGM.

This year’s host, our Danish member firm Andersen Partners, has put a lot of efforts into preparing a great program and, to our greatest delight, all member firms but one, together with two guest firms will be present, generating a record attendance of 108 participants (excluding participants from our member firm Andersen Partners)!

It will be a great occasion to
catch up with old and new friends, meet colleagues from our new members from Belgium (Kwint – we now have two member firms in Belgium), Austria (BLS) and Australia (Blackbay Lawyers), get to know our guest firms from Norway and Canada, and have fun and connect.

I’m certain we’ll all make it worthwhile!

The number of data breaches continued to rise dramatically in 2023, more and more companies are placing cybersecurity at the top of their priority list.
In 2023, the average cost of a data breach has reached a record high (once more). In addition to those costs and reputational damage, companies should also be wary of the penalties that can be imposed.
In this edition of the newsletter of our Pangea DICL team, we focus on the consequential world of data protection, shedding light on noteworthy sanctions and rulings by data protection authorities regarding insufficient technical and organisational measures to ensure information security.
